Recently crowned National League champions Kilkenny and Justin McCarthy's Waterford side will play a challenge match in Portlaw (throw-in 7.00pm) on Sunday night - as part of a fundraising initiative for former Deise hurler Mossie Whelan.

Together with his brothers Peter, Frankie and Jackie, Whelan was instrumental in helping Portlaw capture four senior county titles in the 1970s. Having gained inter-county recognition, he also played for Munster in the Railway Cup.
