Offaly dismantle frustrated Waterford side

Joe Bergin goaled twice as Offaly got the better of Waterford to join the Deise in the NHL Division One quarter-finals.

The Faithfuls earned a shot at Tipperary next Sunday as they claimed second spot in Division 1A with an impressive display in Birr.

Bergin and Alan Egan both found the Deise net as Offaly led 2-10 to 0-04 at the interval. Paul Flynn (3 frees) and Eoin Kelly pointed for Waterford.

The visitors then leaked another goal to Bergin and Kelly was handed a straight red card as sheer frustration saw him lash out at a player on the ground.
