Kildare and Laois happy with the draw
Laois 0-10 Kildare 0-10
It was a rare case of the perfect result for both teams today as a draw at O’Moore Park put Laois into the Division One semi-finals and ensured Kildare’s place in the top flight for next season.
Kildare led 0-07 to 0-03 at the interval – the returning John Doyle hit 0-06 (4f) of their tally. Chris Conway kicked two points for the hosts before being injured.
Kildare moved 0-10 to 0-07 in front – thanks to Doyle’s eighth point – but Laois reined them back in with a trio of late scores from Padraig Clancy, Billy Sheehan and Paul Lawlor. Laois face Kerry in the last-four.
