Tipp respond to Keating criticism with easy win

Babs Keating’s Tipperary side booked their place in the NHL Division 1 quarter-finals as their trip to Portlaoise was an untroubled one.

Other results also went Tipp's way as they swooped for third spot in Division 1B, setting up a date against Division 1A’s second-ranked team.

Laois were left trailing by 0-4 to 2-11 at the interval. Paul Cuddy grabbed the midlanders’ first point from play in injury-time. Kenny Dunne (penalty) and Micheal Webster netted for Tipp.

In the second half, Laois lost Damien Culleton to a red card in between goals for Webster (53 minutes) and John Carroll (58).
