Late Clare scoring run seals win

A 63rd-minute goal from substitute Derek Quinn helped Clare come from behind to beat Waterford in an entertaining tussle at Walsh Park.

Clare struck 1-06 to Waterford’s 0-02 in the closing 25 minutes to take the spoils and go second in the Division 1A table.

Paul Flynn notched four first half points to help Waterford, who lost Eoin Kelly early on to injury, lead by 0-07 to 0-06 at half time.

The Decies’ John Mullane hit three points in the second half but Quinn’s effort, and points from Fergal Lynch and Tony Carmody saw Clare claim league win number two.
