Keane the hero for Limerick
Galway 0-13 Limerick 0-14
Galway slipped to their second defeat of the new league season today as Mark Keane’s nine-point haul powered Limerick to victory at Pearse Stadium.
Former dual player Keane kickstarted the Shannonsiders’ charge as he landed four points, including three frees, in the opening quarter.
Limerick led 0-09 to 0-04 at the interval with Ger Farragher, who top-scored for the hosts with 0-07, and Niall Healy both on target.
Galway midfielder Fergal Healy hit the final point of an evenly-contested second half, but Joe McKenna’s side held on for their first league win.
