Fermanagh top after away win
Monaghan 0-10 Fermanagh 2-09
Fermanagh sit top of NFL Division 1A after bringing last year’s Division 2 champions Monaghan down to size at Clontibret.
Tom Brewster played full-forward Jonathan McGurn in for a first-minute goal that spurred the Ernesiders on to a 1-06 to 0-05 half-time lead.
Despite losing Conor Bradley to an ankle injury, Fermanagh still bossed the second half.
On 39 minutes, wing forward Damien Kelly netted their second goal, chipping Monaghan ‘keeper Shane Duffy with aplomb. Paul Finlay hit three points in the second half to keep the home side interested. Ryan Keenan landed four for the on song visitors.
