New goalkeeping coach for Dubs

Former League of Ireland soccer goalkeeper Gary Matthews has been taken on as goalkeeping coach to the Dublin senior footballers.

Matthews will be the fourth member of the Dubs backroom staff - selectors Dave Bllings, Brian Talty and Paul Clarke were appointed along with manager Paul Caffrey in November 2004.

Matthews is a former Ireland Youths international and lined out for Lourdes Celtic, Belvedere, Athlone Town, Kilkenny City and St Francis, 3-0 losers to Bray Wanderers in the 1990 FAI Cup final, in a lengthy playing career.
