Ger 'Redser' O'Grady has been nominated by county champions Thurles Sarsfields to captain the Tipperary senior hurlers for the coming season.

The 27-year-old O'Grady, who made his championship debut against Laois in 2003, looks set to succeed Benny Dunne as skipper of the Premier county.
