Lambert gets Carlow post
JJ Lambert has been recruited as one of two selectors under Carlow senior football manager Liam Hayes for the 2006 season.
Experienced O'Hanrahan's clubman Lambert, who operated as a selector during Bobby Miller's time as Carlow manager in the mid-to-late 1990s, is replacing Declan McCarthy in the midlanders' think-tank.
McCarthy was in place last season when Carlow knocked Offaly out in the first round of the All-Ireland qualifiers before losing to Limerick a fortnight later.
Carlow also managed to stay in Division 2A of the National League in 2005, beating Leitrim, Clare and London.
Hayes' other selector is former Wexford inter-county player Dr Tom Foley, who is remaining on from last season.
Carlow open their 2006 campaign at home to Westmeath on Sunday, January 8 in the first round of the O'Byrne Cup.
