Bealin seeking Wexford-based selectors
New Wexford football manager Paul Bealin is hoping to appoint two locally-based selectors for the 2006 season.
The former midfielder, an All-Ireland winner with Dublin in 1995, is expected to confirm his backroom team in the coming weeks with a six-man county committee charged with drawing up a shortlist of possible selectors.
Bealin confirmed: "My two selectors will be from Wexford, and they will be people who know every inch of the scene in the county, who can bring something of value to our preparation.
"I will need selectors with me who can inform me what exactly motivates the Wexford players, as it will take me a while longer to gain exact knowledge of the players in that respect," he told the Wexford Echo.
Bealin's Model County reign begins on January 8 with an O'Byrne Cup tie against Wicklow, and the 37-year-old boss admitted he wants his selectors confirmed "as soon as possible."
The Wexford senior football panel is currently away on holidays in Cyprus.
