Barry expected to be sacked as Meath manager

Meath boss Eamon Barry looks set to become the shortest-serving manager in GAA history.

The management committee of the Meath County Board decided last night to recommend that Barry's contract be terminated.

The move follows the manager's recent threat to resign over the board's refusal to ratify his recommended candidates for two jobs within the Meath GAA set-up.

Barry wanted his brother Martin to be appointed to the backroom staff and had also chosen Dessie Rogers as team physio.

Both men received lengthy suspensions from the Meath County Board two years ago following an alleged dressing-room incident.
