Garvey re-appointed by Carlow
Eoin Garvey has been re-appointed as Carlow senior hurling manager for 2006.
The Clare man, who guided the Barrowsiders to a 3-12 to 1-13 league win over Offaly in April, got the vote of confidence at the latest county board meeting.
2005 was an encouraging year for Garvey's side, who won 14 of their 18 matches played.
Carlow lifted the Kehoe Cup in February and reached the NHL Division Two final in May when Offaly gained revenge. They also enjoyed a fine run in the Christy Ring Cup before Down dashed their hopes, winning their semi-final clash 4-23 to 1-11.
Bagenalstown teacher Garvey took on the role in March of last year after the resignations of former Kilkenny goalkeeper Michael Walsh.
Paul Carthy is to stay on as Carlow team trainer for next season, with Garvey confirming his selectors in the coming weeks. Tommy Buggy was re-appointed as manager of the Carlow minor hurlers.
