New Roscommon manager to be revealed
The Roscommon county board are set to reveal the name of their new senior football manager on Monday night.
The board are due to meet on Monday to officially confirm the successor to Valy Daly, who stepped down in August.
The four-man committee of Michael McGuire, John McGowan, Mick Fahy and Seamus Maher convened last night to choose the likely man.
Six are thought to be still in the running including late inclusions John Mauhan and Paidi O'Se, who have both met the committee in recent weeks.
Chris Giblin, Paul O'Kelly, Frank Doherty, Jimmy Finnegan, Tommie Kenoy, Pat Doory and Jimmy Gacquin have all expressed an interest in the position, although former Offaly boss O'Kelly "pulled out" on Tuesday due to business commitments.
McGuire, the acting county board chairman, told the Roscommon Herald: "We understand that people are wondering why this (the appointment) has taken a bit of time but we will have a name for the management position to go before the county board meeting on Monday."
