Groin trouble for Connell
A hampering groing injury will keep Dublin forward Senan Connell on the sidelines for the rest of the winter.
The 31-year-old was affected by the injury during the summer run in which he secured his second Leinster SFC winners medal.
A teacher at St Declan's CBS, Connell was introduced as a substitute by Paul Caffrey in all six of Dublin's championship matches this year, scoring a point against both Meath and Tyrone.
Following Na Fianna's Dublin SFC final loss to Kilmacud Crokes last month, Connell was advised to rest up.
A Dublin county board spokesman said: "The injury is akin to the one which has hampered Paddy Christie for a couple of seasons and should the recommended rest, stretching programme and core strengthening fail to work, Senan faces an operation in the New Year."
