Second shoulder blow for O'Shaughnessy
Dublin defender Stephen O'Shaughnessy could miss the early rounds of the 2006 National League after sustaining his second shoulder injury in four months.
The Lucan Sarsfields defender, who made his senior championship debut against Longford in May, suffered the latest mishap during a Leinster trial match for this weekend's interprovincial football semi-final against Connacht.
O'Shaughnessy's left shoulder "popped out" when he went to punch a high ball during the match at Parnell Park.
One of six Dubs nominated for a 2005 AllStar, O'Shaughnessy suffered a similar injury during the Leinster SFC semi-final against Wexford in June, but made a quicker-than-expected return through physiotherapy to face Laois in the provincial decider.
If surgery is opted for, the talented corner-back could be ruled out of Dublin manager Paul Caffrey's plans for the football league's start in February.
