Andrews to manage Leinster Interpro team
Former Louth boss Val Andrews has been chosen to manage the Leinster football team for the forthcoming Interprovincial Championship.
Andrews, who resigned in controversial circumstances from the Wee county job in August, will work alongside selectors Paul Caffrey (Dublin) and Sean Dempsey (Laois) for the province.
Leinster are scheduled to play Connacht under floodlights at Parnell Park on Saturday, October 29 (throw-in 7pm).
In the hurling equivalent, Leinster will be managed by John Conran, who stepped down as Wexford boss last year. His selectors are Brian Whelahan (Offaly) and Richie Power (Kilkenny). Conran's side face Connacht on Sunday, October 23, in Loughrea (throw-in 3pm).
Meanwhile, four individuals have been nominated by Louth clubs for Andrews' vacated position of senior football manager - Michael Heaney, David Reilly, John Carolan and Jim Clifford.
The Louth county board expect to have a candidate in place in three weeks' time.
