Offaly goalkeeper Paraic Kelly retained the MBNA All-Ireland Kick Fada title in Bray yesterday, with a winning kick of 63 metres.

A record attendance of close to a thousand spectators watched Kelly claim the scalps of some notable inter-county players - Donegal's Gerry McGill, Wexford All-Star Mattie Forde, Meath forward Joe Sheridan and young Dublin attacker Mark Vaughan.

It was the sixth year of the annual event, which was dominated in its formative years by four-time winner Mark Herbert of Kildare.

Irene Munnelly of Meath claimed the ladies title yesterday with a kick of 45 metres with GAA President Sean Kelly and Minister for the Environment Dick Roche in attendance.

Kelly and Munnelly both received holiday vouchers worth €1,500 for their endeavours.
