All square for minors at the break
Half-time: Galway 1-07 Limerick 0-10
Holders Galway and beaten Munster finalists Limerick are locked level at half-time in this afternoon's ESB All-Ireland minor hurling final at Croke Park.
Timmy O'Connor's Shannonsiders made the better start, racing into a 0-03 to 0-01 lead with Eoin Ryan and free-taker John Kelly prominent.
However, Portumna full-forward Joe Canning, brother of Galway senior Ollie, gradually came into his own, hitting three points for a brief Galway lead of 0-05 to 0-04.
Conor Kavanagh waltzed through the Limerick rearguard on 19 minutes to fire in a great goal.
Underdogs Limerick steadied themselves, striking the half's final five points to square it up before the break.
Ryan is the top-scorer with four points, while Kelly has landed three.
