Champions Galway win through
Galway 2-10 Dublin 0-07, O’Moore Park, Portlaoise
Corner forward Niamh Fahey chipped in with a brace of goals as champions Galway booked their place in next month's All-Ireland final with a 2-10 to 0-07 victory.
The Tribeswomen will face Cork at Croke Park on October 2 after overcoming the Dubs with an impressive display in Portlaoise.
Having conceded the opening three points to Lyndsay Davey (0-02) and Sinead Aherne, Galway sprung into a 1-05 to 0-03 half-time lead with Fahey goaling on nine minutes. Annaghdown centre forward Niamh Duggan landed four frees for Galway.
The Dubs, who subbed on 36-year-old star Angie McNally in the second half, did well to stay in touch but with Annaghdown centre forward Niamh Duggan top-scoring with five points and Fahey adding a second goal on 43 minutes, Galway were just too good.
