John Kennedy and Paidi O'Se are in line to contest the position of Limerick senior football manager, according to the Limerick county board.

Kennedy, who stepped down as Clare boss last week, and former Kerry player and manager O'Se, who brought an end to his short stint in charge of Westmeath earlier this summer, are the stand out contenders for the post, which was vacated by Liam Kearns.

Kearns stepped down in the aftermath of the Shannonsiders' qualifier loss to Derry in July, and in a season of managerial shuffles, he has recently been nominated for the vacant Mayo manager's post.

Besides Kennedy and O'Se, the Limerick county board confirmed two other possibles on their nominations list - Kerry man and TG4 Underdog manager Mickey Ned O'Sullivan and current Limerick Under-21 supremo Ger Lawlor.
