Tributes paid on death of football legend Sean Purcell

Tributes are being paid to Galway footballing legend, Sean Purcell who passed away last night.

He and Frank Stockwell were fondly known as the "Terrible Twins" in the 1956 All-Ireland winning team.

In the world of Gaelic games, he was regarded as one of the greatest ever centre-half forwards.

The versatile former Tuam Star was 76-years-old, and was named in both the Team of the Century in 1984 and Team of the Millennium in 1999.
