Kerry starts for Galvin and Sheehan

Kerry manager Jack O'Connor has sprung a double surprise by benching Dara O'Cinneide and Mike Frank Russell for Sunday's All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Cork.

The drop has been coming for An Ghaeltacht's O'Cinnéide, last season's captain, who failed to score from play in the Kingdom's last two outings, kicking three placed balls.

O'Cinnéide was used as a sub in the Munster championship outings against Tipperary and Limerick.

2000 All-star Russell came into form last time out, kicking three points from play in Kerry's quarter-final win over Mayo, but the Laune Ranger has also failed to consistently hit the heights this summer.

Paul Galvin, who burst onto the scene as a second half sub against Mayo with three lightning points, and St Mary's forward Bryan Sheehan take their places in the Kerry attack.

Team captain Declan O'Sullivan bumps up from the half-forward line to fill in for O'Cinneide at full-forward, while Sheehan is a direct replacement for Russell at left corner forward.

Darragh O'Sé and William Kirby man the midfield once again.
