Hoyne, Brennan recalled by Cats
Graigue-Ballycallan team mates John Hoyne and Eddie Brennan have earned recalls to the Kilkenny starting line-up for tomorrow's All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Galway (Croke Park, 3.30pm).
The duo, both used as substitutes in the Cats' 0-18 to 0-13 quarter-final victory over Limerick, come in indirectly for Brian Barry and Richie Power.
Hoyne will take All-star Tommy Walsh's left half-forward spot, with the latter moving back to midfield for the first time this season.
Brennan, a 2003 All-star who lined out in that year's All-Ireland final defeat of Cork, replaces Power at right corner forward. Young Irelands legend DJ Carey remains at full-forward.
Kilkenny boss Brian Cody, meanwhile, has talked up the Tribesmen's chances of causing an upset against his side.
"They (Galway) literally ’ran’ Tipperary and hurled them off their feet for the rest of the game. It was a top class performance," said Cody of Galway's quarter-final win.
