Maughan quits as Mayo manager

John Maughan has quit as manager of the Mayo footballers this afternoon in the wake of Sunday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final loss to Kerry.

Maughan, in his second spell in charge of the westerners, informed the county secretary Sean Feeney of his decision earlier today.
