Time running out for Sligo's O'Hara

Bustling Sligo midfielder Eamonn O'Hara looks certain to miss the Yeats county's All-Ireland SFC third round qualifier against Clare on Sunday.

The Tourlestrane giant damaged his knee in the opening minutes of the second round defeat of Kildare and subsequent scans revealed both ligament and bone damage to the knee.

O'Hara underwent an intensive course of physiotherapy last weekend, but it seems the 2002 All-star is still a week or two away from a recovery.

Meanwhile, Joe Bergin is ready to return to training with the recently-crowned Connacht champions Galway.

The 2001 All-Ireland-winning midfielder, who adopted the role of water-carrier in last Sunday's provincial final defeat of Mayo, is nursing himself back to full fitness after a hampering knee injury.

The versatile Mountbellew/Moylough player also missed the Tribesmen's Connacht opener against Leitrim because of the mumps.
