Caffrey awaits O'Shaughnessy fitness report

Dublin senior football manager Paul Caffrey has been left sweating on the fitness of Stephen O’Shaughnessy for the Leinster Final date with Laois.

O’Shaughnessy dislocated his shoulder in a heavy fall during the semi-final win over Wexford on Sunday.

The Lucan Sarsfield clubman suffered a similar injury in a club game two years ago and it is possible the corner-back – one of the finds of the league season for Dublin - may play no further part in this year's Championship.

The players club Boss – former Dublin midfielder Jack Sheedy – commented: “It’s too soon to tell what the extent of the damage is. He went to Beaumont Hospital after the game and they will be able to tell him more at the end of this week.

"At the moment, he’s got his arm in a sling and there’s really not a lot more you can do with that type of injury.”
