Stamp expected back for Laois opener

Wexford defender Darren Stamp is expected to return to action as his side open the defence of their Leinster SHC crown against Laois on Sunday week.

The Oulart-the-Ballagh club man is still suffering from a hand injury he picked up in a recent challenge match, but manager Seamus Murphy has admitted the injury is not as bad as first feared.

He said: "The X-rays came back clear but the hand is still badly swollen. He has been ordered complete rest but he should be able to make the semi-final in a fortnight."
