Rebels trim squad for championship

Garvan McCarthy and Paul Tierney have been dropped from the Cork senior hurling panel for the upcoming championship.

Garvan McCarthy and Paul Tierney have been dropped from the Cork senior hurling panel for the upcoming championship.

Both players made appearances during the Rebels' league campaign, but have been omitted from the squad.

The championship panel was finalised after Cork's league campaign concluded against Galway last weekend. 28 players have been named, with two more to be added in the coming weeks.

Newcomers to the panel from last year are: Peter Kelly (Erins Own), Eamonn Collins (Valley Rovers), Kieran Murphy (Erins Own), Ronan McGregor (Na Piarsaigh), Neil Ronan (Ballyhea) and Kevin Hartnett (Russell Rovers).
