Sligo shock Wexford
Sligo 2-13 Wexford 1-15
Wexford's picture-perfect start to the league came to a crashing hault at Markievicz Park as the Division 1B leaders lost out 1-15 to 2-13 to bottom side Sligo.
Substitute John McPartland sent the injury-time point which split the sides in an enthralling encounter - which saw the Yeats men chalk up their first win in four attempts.
The visitors - who lost substitute Pat Forde to a late yellow card - relied on All-Star forward Mattie Forde for 0-08 (including five free kicks).
He was outshone however by Sean Davey, who cracked home a 24th-minute penalty to set up a 1-09 to 0-08 half-time lead for Sligo.
Just three minutes into the second half, Wexford captain John Hudson replied - drilling home his third successive spot kick of the campaign.
Forde's fifth point soon levelled things at 1-11 apiece and a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.
Four unanswered points pushed Wexford 1-15 to 1-12 clear however substitute Brian Curran's goal - from a rebound of a first-time Davey shot - and McPartland's late point brought about the shock Sligo win.
