Limerick board to discuss dismal start to season
The Limerick County Board will discuss the county hurling side's dismal start to the National League at its meeting tomorrow night.
Padjoe Whelahan's side were trounced by 13 points against Cork on the opening weekend of the league and Tipperary beat the Shannonsiders by six points at the Gaelic Grounds yesterday - but the scoreline flattered the home side.
Limerick's problems don't end on the field, however. Last year's captain TJ Ryan was dropped from the panel for a month last week - it is thought the Garryspillane man was axed for disciplinary reasons after letting the management know how he felt about the defeat to Cork.
Another former captain, Mark Foley, has been named to play twice in as many weeks, yet has not featured in either tie.
The county board will discuss the situation when it meets tomorrow night.
