O'Connor named Kerry Person of the Year

Kerry football manager Jack O'Connor has been named the 2005 Kerry Person of the Year.

Chairman of the Kerry Association in Dublin, Eugene O'Sullivan, announced the winner at ESB headquarters in the capital.

O'Connor, a native of Dromid, began training teams as a secondary school teacher.

His coaching career reached new heights last year as he guided Kerry to league, Munster and All-Ireland honours in his first season in charge.
