Limerick unveil new strip

The Limerick county board revealed their new strip for the coming season last night.

There had been intrigue as to what message the jerseys would carry following JP McManus's agreement to sponsor all the county teams, with the exception of the minor footballers.

The jerseys will read "Sporting Limerick".

McManus, a huge follower of Limerick GAA, was not present at the launch due to business commitments.

However, his spokesman Declan Moylan said: "The slogan, Sporting Limerick, is a simple positive message that captures the passion, pride, and participation of Limerick people both city and county across all sporting codes. The slogan provides an opportunity to promote Limerick’s world class facilities, Limerick as a sports destination and promote more participation in sport."

Limerick senior hurling captain TJ Ryan, and his football counterpart Muiris Gavin, attended the launch.
