New Dubs boss Caffrey puts management team together

Paul Caffrey has been named as the new Dublin senior football manager.

The Na Fianna club man, who was a selector under former boss Tommy Lyons, was interviewed on Wednesday for the position, and was unveiled by the county board last night.

Caffrey is well-known in Dublin GAA circles, having led Na Fianna to three county titles in a row in 1999, 2000 and 2001.

He also guided the club to the Leinster title in 1999, but they lost out in the All-Ireland final to Crossmaglen Rangers, managed then by current Armagh boss Joe Kernan.

Caffrey has put his management team together. Dave Billings will stay involved, while All-Ireland-winning players Paul Clarke and Brian Talty have also come on board.

The Dublin county board has worked fast to appoint a new boss since Brian Mullins turned down an offer to manage the Metropolitans last weekend.
