Galvin to become 1,000 Allstar

Kerry right half-forward Paul Galvin will be announced as the 1,000th Allstar at tomorrow night's banquet, which will be televised live on RTE.

Galvin, from Finuge, was one of six Kerry players to get the nod this year, following a dream season for incoming manager Jack O'Connor. The Kingdom won the League, the Munster championship and the All-Ireland title in his first year in charge.

The other Kerry players honoured were goalkeeper Diarmuid Murphy, defenders Tom O'Sullivan, Mike McCarthy and Tomás Ó Sé and corner-forward Colm Cooper, who recently was crowned the Texaco footballer of the year.
