Waterford's Mount Sion look on course for a repeat of their 2002 provincial success after coming through their Munster Club Hurling semi-final against Kilmaley of Clare.

However Jim Greene's side, helped to their win by three second half goals from Eoin and Dan Kelly and Barry Brown, could be without star Eoin McGrath for their final date against Toomevara.

The midfielder broke a finger late in the game.

They ran up a 1-9 to 0-6 half time lead with McGrath and his brother Ken chief amongst their scorers.

Second half goals from Ken Dunne and Willie Ryan helped Tipperary champions Toomevara defeat Cork's Na Piarsaigh 2-13 to 0-13 in their Munster Club Hurling semi-final at Semple Stadium.

Ger Shaw, a substitute in Na Piarsaigh's county final win over Cloyne last Sunday, grabbed seven of their eleven first half points.

But a poor second half return of two left them defeated.

Without the forward talent of the younger O hAilpins - Aisake and Setanta - the north Cork side nevertheless put up stiff opposition and were 0-6 to 0-3 in front after 15 minutes.

Connacht senior football first round:

Tourlestrane (Sligo) 0-7 Killererin (Galway) 0-8

Galway champions Killererin booked a Connacht SF semi-final date with Leitrim's Annaduff, but only just as Tourlestrane of Sligo were edged 0-8 to 0-7 at Markievicz Park.

Intercounty forward Gerry McGowan screwed a 45-metre free wide in the fourth minute of injury time as the Yeats men through caution to the wind with goalkeeper Fintan Kennedy lining up on the edge of Killererin's square.

Killererin, back in the provincial championship for the first time in five years, had too much attacking savvy for their hosts, the trio of Joyces - Nicky, Padraic and Tommy contributing seven of their scores.

Final score: Tourlestrane (Sligo) 0-7 Killererin (Galway) 0-8.
