Power of Motions Committee curbed
The possibility of rugby and soccer being played at Croke Park took a big step step forward when the power of the Association's Motions Committee was reduced at the GAA Special Congress.
Motions brought by eight counties last year to open up Croke Park were deemed out of order on a technicality but because of this weekend's ruling, that will never happen again.
A motion was passed unanimously that prevents future motions to Congress being deemed out of order on the eve of the vote, without recourse to rectify the motion.
From now on any ruled out of order will be returned the county board in question with instructions on how to present it properly.
