Maughan reappointed to Mayo helm
John Maughan was reappointed Mayo senior football boss for the next three years at a county board meeting last night.
Maughan and selectors Liam McHale and George Golden said they were not interested in 12-month rolling contracts, as was the case for the last two years.
They added that they believed there was huge potential for success in Mayo, having guided the senior and U21 teams to All-Ireland finals this year.
The management was returned for three years following a show of hands at the meeting in Castlebar.
Mayo's senior footballers were humbled by Kerry in the All-Ireland final this year, while the U21s were outsmarted by Armagh in their decider.
