Dolan gets Leitrim job

The Leitrim county board’s search for a senior football manager has ended with the appointment of Dessie Dolan Snr.

Dolan, the father of Westmeath attacker Dessie Jnr, has been given a 12-month contract, which has yet to be ratified by the county board.

The Westmeath native replaces Declan Rowley. Dolan coached Athlone IT last year and guided Ballymahon to the Westmeath SFC title a few years ago. He was also a Longford selector.
