Forde appointed new Galway boss
Peter Forde has been appointed by Galway county board to succeed fellow Mayoman John O’Mahony as senior football manager.
The former Mayo full-back and Sligo manager was appointed following an interview with Tribesman officials last night.
Former Galway player Brian Talty and Caltra trainer Frank Doherty were also in the running for the job.
Forde was a selector with John Maughan in his native Mayo in the late '90s before taking over as Sligo boss in 2001.
Forde will be put forward for ratification at Monday's county board meeting.
