Tribesmen chiefs consider O'Mahony successor
Galway officials conducted interviews late into last night to determine who should succeed John O'Mahony as senior football manager.
Brian Talty, Peter Forde and Frank Doherty all met with the six-man committee.
Former Tribesman hero Brian Talty has already insisted travelling from his Dublin base to Galway would not be a problem if his bid were successful.
Former Mayo full-back and Sligo boss Peter Forde put forward his claims for a possible appointment, while Frank Doherty, who steered Galway club Caltra to All-Ireland club success last March, also staked his claim.
The Galway county board is expected to make a decision this weekend and put forward the successful applicant's name for ratification at next week’s board meeting.
