Giles to appeal four-week suspension

Trevor Giles will go to the Leinster Council tonight in a bid to have his four-week suspension reversed, enabling him to line out in Sunday’s Meath SFC final.

Royal County star Giles was handed the ban on Monday night following his straight red card in Skryne's semi-final replay win over Dunshaughlin.

It was the first time in Giles' career that he was sent to the line.

He met with disciplinary bosses on Saturday but failed to have the red card overturned, due to a lack of video evidence.

Giles’ club Skryne face Simonstown Gaels, managed by Colm O'Rourke, on Sunday but the former Footballer of the Year looks likely to miss out.
