Dublin footballer to box snooker player tomorrow

The boxing match between Australian snooker star Quinten Hann and Dublin footballer Jonathan Magee will go ahead tomorrow night, despite safety fears.

More than 1,000 tickets have been sold for the fight in the National Stadium, with €25,000 going to charity.

The Dublin county board has refused to sanction the fight.

Magee stepped up to face Hann after the Australian snooker player offered €20,000 to any player willing to fight him after claiming that GAA players were not in the same league as their Australian Rules counterparts.
