Kearins resigns as Sligo football boss
James Kearins has resigned as manager of the Sligo senior football team.
Kearins informed the County Board last night that he would not be putting his name forward for the position again next year.
The move is believed to be related to a row over Sligo’s participation in the inaugural Tommy Murphy Cup competition this season. Kearins refused to manage the Sligo team for the competition, leaving Paul Durcan to take temporary charge.
