The 34-year-old has played in 14 championships and only returned this year, after quitting the scene last year. He made his debut for Sligo in the 1990-91 National Football League.

Durcan also has flirted with management.

When Sligo boss James Kearins refused to be involved in his team's preparations for the Tommy Murphy Cup, Durcan stepped in and took over as temporary manager, a position he has stated he is not interested in full-time.
