Kernan to take time over Armagh decision

Armagh manager Joe Kernan has said he will take his time in deciding whether to remain at the helm in the Orchard County.

The All-Ireland favourites were knocked out in the quarter-finals in dramatic fashion as they lost to northern minnows Fermanagh by a point at Croke Park last Saturday.

The defeat marked the end of Kernan's third year in charge, during which he captured the county's first ever Sam Maguire in 2002.

“We'll get a rest, we won't make any rash decisions and we'll winter well,” Kernan said.

Kernan took over from Brian McAlinden and Brian Canavan in 2001, after taking Crossmaglen Rangers to their first All-Ireland club title.
