Denis Connerton has resigned as Longford manager following his side's defeat to Dublin in the

All-Ireland football qualifiers at the weekend.

Connerton had been in charge for three years, and led Longford to the top tier of League football, where they beat Kerry and Westmeath this year, but were eventually relegated.

There is speculation that Declan Rowley may step in and take charge. The Longford native recently resigned as Leitrim manager.
