Kildare boss Nolan cuts experienced duo from first team

Kildare boss Padraic Nolan has risked a potential fans revolt by axing both Glenn Ryan and Anthony Rainbow from his first team.

The Lilywhites face Wexford at Croke Park on Sunday and neither Ryan nor Rainbow, All-Ireland finalists in 1998, figure.

Instead, Eamonn Callaghan starts in Rainbow's familiar wing-back position with Michael Foley in the centre-back berth that Ryan has made his own.

Elsewhere, livewire forward Morgan O'Sullivan makes his championship debut at full-forward.

Kildare (SF v Wexford): E Murphy; B Lacey, D Hendy, A McLoughlin; E Callaghan, M Foley, K Ennis; D Earley, K Brennan; D McCormack, J Doyle, R Sweeney; P Brennan, M O'Sullivan, T Fennin.
