GAA president tells managers to bite their lips

GAA president Sean Kelly has warned inter-county managers they face possible suspension for criticising match day referees.

Managers including Carlow's Luke Dempsey, Wicklow's Hugh Kenny and Down's Paddy O'Rourke have all been scathing in their comments following recent games.

Kelly said: "Nobody is suggesting that our referees make 100% correct decisions all the time, but they most certainly aren't getting it as wrong as some managers would have you believe.

"We have to address this growing culture of instant condemnation because it's creating a climate of diminishing respect for referees which can have serious repercussions at all levels."
