Gardaí set to probe alleged assault

Gardaí are set to probe an alleged assault on the referee of a junior hurling game in Limerick recently.

The referee in question officiated in the Junior B clash between Adare and Kilcornan and admitted that an incident did take place.

A source has said that before the final whistle a player struck the referee with a hurley.
